Kevin Morby performed at Brooklyn Steel alongside Hamilton Leithauser for their Fall Mixer Tour. The two complimented each other, and not just because both are of the best songwriters of their generation, or because they shared a band (which they are, and they did). Morby, like his co-headliner, writes thoughtful songs that paint vivid and compelling portraits, though backdropped with a midwestern background to Leithauser’s cityscapes. He delivered these songs, with guests including his partner Katie Crutchfield, better known as Waxahatchee with electrifying conviction and it was truly enthralling.
